What are Pay what you can Minis?

Pay what you can minis are exactly as they sound; they are mini sessions where you pay a small non-refundable retainer to hold your session time slot and that is truly all you have to pay. I do of offer the option for you to tip if it is within your budget or you wish to pay more than I am asking, however it is not mandatory to participate. I offer these to people who would otherwise skip family portraits due to budget restraints or even mom guilt over spending money on professional photos due to the family budget and upcoming holiday season.

Why do I offer pay what you can minis?

I offer them twice a year because as a military spouse and mama I know Professional Photos are not always in the budget. I also know as Mama’s we VERY frequently do not want to spend money on ourselves. Let’s be honest how many times have you found something you absolutely love and choose to not get it because you would rather spend that money on your kid (even if it is well within your budget) Because why spend the $30 on a pair of new jeans for yourself when you can buy multiple outfits for your child or add to the holiday gifts you have been stashing away. Trust me I get it! I also know we as mamas are often not in the photos with our babies because we are the ones capturing the moments.

Don’t people take advantage of you?

I like to think no, however I am sure some do. That is why there are so many constraints to them, because I do not want people ruining this for people who truly could use these sessions. A set date, non refundable retainer to hold your slot, and only one included image. Because if you truly cannot afford a session and you are getting your choice of one image and the option to purchase images anytime within the calendar year you will take the session. I am giving an incredibly affordable option to actually BE IN high quality photos with your babies.

Do not let pride get in the way!

Please do not let pride get in the way. I do not make you prove that you cannot afford one of my standard mini sessions or my regular length sessions. I do not ask for anything but that you and your family show up camera ready, and prepared to have fun. You are treated with the same respect and dignity as all my other clients. I truly want to allow YOU to be in photos with your babies. Because one day your kids will be grown and ask why YOU are not in any photos with them. So please just book the session so we can capture that magic and preserve those moments for your kids.
