Hello! I am Shelby!


I am the owner and photographer of Shelby Roberts Photography! I am so excited you are considering working with me and allowing me to Capture Your Story! Here is a little bit about me, my business background and experience in the photography field!


I am a Hybrid (Digital + Film) lifestyle photographer focusing predominantly in Natural Newborn sessions however I also offer a variety of storytelling portrait sessions from: Motherhood, Family + Couples sessions.


I also offer limited Elopement + Wedding coverage!

Professional Background


I have currently have over 16 years of hands on experience in the photography field and obtained my degree in professional photography with the New York Institute of Photography. I am a three time Best of Georgia recipient in the Newborn and Motherhood Category!


I am trained and certified in newborn photography safety through the Milky Way as well as Hello Jude Photography's Newborn Workshop. I am a proud member and certified with the CapABLE Community, I am a proud affiliate photographer for the Tilly Project (they specialize in end of life pet sessions), a proud member of Spouse-LY (this is a fantastic page for Military Spouses and first responders who have small businesses), and the Association of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs (AMSE).

Personal Background

From a personal stand point I have been obsessed with photography for almost my entire life. And have had some form of camera since I can remember from the old school clunky film cameras you could buy at the drugstore and turn in to get your images developed, to the original Nikon Coolpix (dating myself a little here). Growing up I had a huge art influence from my mom who introduced me to the infamous Ansel Adams and from there my love of photographs was born; his inky black and whites make my heart swoon. As I grew, I only continued to fall in love with the art and fell into yearbook in school where I would end up becoming the lead photographer and editor. This then lead me to an internship with our local news paper where I was given the opportunity to take photos and have them published for local events. After graduating I still had a huge love for photography and still carried a small camera with me almost everywhere I went taking street photography and photos of my travels.


In 2020 after the birth of my daughter while stationed in Germany; my mom pushed me to follow my dream to start my own business and that is also when Shelby Roberts Photography was born! And has continued to grow and thrive since!


In present day when I am not taking portraits for families like you; I am of course terrorizing my own family to get photos. But I am also deeply in love with film photography and travel photography which I would say I do any opportunity I can and would eventually love to add Fine art film photography to my session line up - there is just something about the magic of film. We decided to get our family photos done, and Shelby was not only super patient, with our 1 and 4 year old, but she truly does amazing with kids to get them to look, smile etc for amazing results. She got our sneak peeks back in less than 24 hours, and she’s replies within minutes about any questions! Our end results were amazing and i am in love with our family pictures. She’s super affordable and just all around amazing! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Shelby was amazing to work with. We originally scheduled to have pictures at a castle ruin but due to weather we had to reschedule. Unfortunately due to our schedule the reschedule time wasn’t what we wanted, so we asked to switch locations instead. Shelby worked with us to get our family pictures all situated while my husband was still on leave. She made my children feel so comfortable and really interacted with them as well during the shoot so we were able to get amazing pictures. If I could say one negative and it’s truly not a negative it is the pictures were so good it was hard to choose which pictures to download and print.

Shelby is absolutely amazing!! We booked a sunflower field mini with her. Weather was against us, due to the harsh rains the owners of the sunflower field decided to end their season early. During all this she had kept us updated. Due to the farm closing it resulted in us not being able to have our shoot done there. Shelby gave us other options of locations and times. We chose Cay Creek and was not disappointed. She guided us through different poses, was very patient with our 3 and 4 year olds, made us feel very comfortable/confident and before we ended the session she asked if we’d like any other photos captured that she may have missed. 10/10 recommend.
